Key Takeaways:
2024 Bookings-Tips for peak season travel
A comprehensive list of Thailand’s 2024 public holidays can be found here. Even in the low season period, the public holidays can lead to fully-booked trains, hotels and guide services.
Should your guests’ travel dates overlap with these holidays- especially the April and end-of-year dates- we suggest booking early and allowing some flexibility with regards to the itinerary. Our team will help advise alternative routings to avoid the crowds and ensure a smooth, enjoyable holiday.
Trains
During public holidays and other peak travel periods, securing train tickets is very difficult. In accordance with local regulations, tickets may only be purchased 30 – 60 days in advance, with the exact booking window dependent on the route. This means that even if a trip is confirmed 6 months in advance, we are unable to purchase the ticket until the official booking window is open. Due to the high demand and limited tickets available, we cannot guarantee availability, Therefore it is recommended to propose alternative transportation during the public holidays, such as domestic flight, VIP bus or private car. Please refer to this document for the periods when trains are likely to be unavailable.
